Incident Command System 200 - Overview of the System Unit 2
This unit identifies three purposes of ICS. We look at the practice ICS ensures. The safety of responders, the achievement of tactical objectives and the efficient use of resources. In addition this unit identifies how ICS interacts with the National Incident Management System, SARA 1986, OSHA 1910.120 as well as state and local regulations.

This unit teaches the importance of using common terminology, modular organization, management by objective, incident action plan, chain of command, span of control, resource management, transfer of command, accountability and mobilization.

This unit looks at the role and function of the Incident Commander and a Command Staff.

This unit addresses the role and function of the operations section, planning section, logistics section and the finance/administration section. An effective and knowledgeable Incident Commander must have a complete working knowledge of each function in order to activate and deploy each at the appropriate time and under the appropriate conditions.

Incidnet Command System 200 -- ICS Facilities -- Unit 6
This unit looks at the six basic ICS facilities. We identify those facilites that could be located together. Finally we look at a method to identify facility map symbols.

After completion of this unit you will understand the common mobilization responsibilities, describe other common responsibilities, individual responsibilities and finally common demobilization responsibilities.
