Legal Role & Responsibility
This is an in depth look at MGL 151B and how officers of all ranks need to prepare themselves to present themselves as employees supporting a workplace free of innuendo and hostility. In addition, you must reinforce, through demonstration and continued teaching of the finer points of integrating genders, mixing ethnicity, as well as personal perspectives into our working environment. Finally, you need to have a personal level of understanding of the law in order to recognize harassment, receive a claim of harassment, investigate, document and determine judgments when applicable.
This can not be done ethically, and responsibly if you do not accept the responsibility as an officer. Whether you are a young officer or a seasoned officer this is a role and responsibility that works best based on knowledge and understanding the law.
