This document was developed by NIOSH Spokane Washington in cooperation with trench protective systems rental company and is designed as an online training resource. 

It is intended to provide an introduction into trench safety and the benefits of using trench protective systems. This online refresher training does not replace instructor-led, hands on instruction by certified safety personnel. The material presented is based on OSHA standards.
